Goblin Hunt — Privacy Policy

Effective date: 4 September 2026

Goblin Hunt is a single-player fantasy role-playing game published by Hexmonger. This policy explains what the game does and does not do with information, on every platform it is played on: the browser version on itch.io, and the Android and iOS versions from the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.

Questions, requests, or corrections: privacy@hexmonger.com.

The short version

1. Information the game does not collect

Goblin Hunt does not ask for, receive, or store:

Character names in the game are generated by the game itself. They are not yours, and they are not treated as personal information.

2. Information kept on your device

The game writes these files to its own private storage on your device:

filewhat it holds
save slotsthe world seed, your character sheet, inventory, quest flags, and position
the autosavethe same, written at checkpoints and when the app is suspended
your profilethe character carried between adventures
the chroniclewhich adventures you have finished and how
settingsaudio volumes, display options, and whether ads were bought away

These files never leave your device by any action of the game. They contain no information about you as a person — only about the game.

Two exceptions are worth naming plainly, because they are the operating system's doing rather than the game's:

You can delete everything the game has stored by deleting the game.

3. Advertising (Android and iOS only)

The mobile versions of Goblin Hunt are free and supported by ads. The browser version shows no ads and contains no advertising code at all.

Ads are served by Google AdMob. To serve, measure, and prevent fraud in advertising, Google's ad SDK collects and processes information from your device, which may include:

Hexmonger does not receive this information. It goes to Google, which acts as an independent controller of it; Google's use is governed by Google's privacy policy and how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. Google's advertising partners are listed at Google's ad technology providers.

Your choice about personalised ads

Payments

If you buy "remove ads", the purchase is handled entirely by Apple or Google. Hexmonger never sees your payment details, your name, or your billing address — only whether an anonymous purchase for this product succeeded.

4. Anonymous gameplay diagnostics

Goblin Hunt is a procedurally generated game, which means a bug often depends on the exact world it happened in. To fix such bugs and to understand which parts of the game people actually play, we intend to collect a small amount of anonymous gameplay information:

And, specifically, not:

Records are grouped by a random identifier that is created on your device the first time the game runs, so that events from one play session can be read together. It is not derived from anything about you or your device, it is not shared with anyone, it is not combined with advertising data, and deleting the game destroys it. We do not attempt to re-identify anyone from this data, and we do not sell it, share it for advertising, or use it to build a profile of you.

This is not enabled in the current release. No gameplay information leaves your device today. When it is enabled, this policy will be updated with a new effective date before the release that turns it on, and it will be possible to switch it off in Settings.

5. Downloadable adventures

Goblin Hunt can play adventures that did not ship inside it. There are two ways one can arrive, and only one of them touches the network:

The game as it ships names no such address, so there is nothing to download and nothing is requested: the download screen says that no catalogue is set up, and the address has to be entered by hand before anything is asked of anyone. Only `https://` addresses are fetched.

If we offer downloadable adventures ourselves — paid or free — this policy will be updated with a new effective date before the release that turns them on, and the address they come from will be named here.

Whichever way an adventure arrives, it is only data the game reads: an adventure may contain text, maps, quests and images and nothing else. It cannot run code, ask for permissions, reach the network, or send anything of yours anywhere.

6. Data retention

Nothing above is kept "just in case". When a retention period ends, the records are deleted or reduced to counts that cannot be connected to any device.

7. Children

Goblin Hunt is a fantasy adventure with combat and depictions of blood. It is not directed at children, and it is not made for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Because of that, the game does not request child-directed ad treatment from the ad network; it does restrict ad content to a teen-appropriate rating. If you believe a child has provided personal information through this game, write to privacy@hexmonger.com and we will act on it.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what information is held about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict its use, to receive a copy of it, and to withdraw consent you previously gave. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that already happened.

For the personalised advertising described in section 3, the legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time from Settings → Privacy. For non-personalised ads and for the diagnostics in section 4, the basis is our legitimate interest in funding and repairing the game — an interest we have deliberately kept narrow by not collecting identifiers at all.

Because the game holds no account and no identifier of you, we usually cannot find "your" data on request, and we will say so rather than guess. What we can always do is tell you exactly what a given version of the game collects, and act on any request about the advertising consent you gave. For the data Google holds as a controller, exercise your rights with Google directly through Google's privacy tools.

If you are in California: we do not sell your personal information for money. Serving personalised ads may count as "sharing" for cross-context behavioural advertising under the CPRA; you can opt out of it with the in-game privacy options, by declining tracking on iOS, or by buying "remove ads".

If you are in the EEA or the UK and are not satisfied with our answer, you may complain to your national data protection authority.

Requests: privacy@hexmonger.com. We answer within 30 days.

9. The browser version

The version of Goblin Hunt playable in a browser is hosted on itch.io. It contains no ads, no ad SDK, and no diagnostics; its saves live in your browser's local storage and are cleared when you clear site data. The page itself is served by itch.io, whose own logging and cookies are governed by itch.io's privacy policy.

10. Changes to this policy

If what the game collects changes, this policy changes first, and the effective date at the top changes with it. Material changes — anything that widens what is collected or what it is used for — will be announced on the game's store pages, and where the law requires it, you will be asked to consent again.
